Navigate to The Technical Library’s website – www.techlibrary.co.za and click on the Library Catalogue Link on the Home Page. The screen will prompt you for your User ID and submit, and then for your password and submit. See a previous blog to find out how become a member of The Technical Library and obtain login details
On the left side of the screen, click on the Keyword tab.
You will use this search to find items where you don’t know the title. The title, subtitle, subject, abstract and author fields are searched for any keyword that is entered.
If you want to find any record that contains a phrase, for example South Africa, then type South Africa and tick Exact phrase
If you want to find any record that contains two different keywords, for example both Johannesburg and Durban, then type Johannesburg Durban and tick All of the words (AND)
If you need two different versions of a word searched, for example Johannesburg Joburg then select Any of the words (OR)
